To create longer drives, great golf swingspeed and longevity in the game it is essential to focus on golf fitness training. Although Strength training can bulk up your muscles and cause limited movement in your swing but this is where flexibility comes in.
The most important part of Golf Fitness training I am going to talk about is the importance of having a strong core. This is your midsection that I’m talking about. Usually people tend to focus on bulking up their guns and think they have the power. But never focus on abs and back muscles which is potentially dangerous because you can have a huge muscle imbalance causing serious injury.
Let me share with you some advice and strategies to help you create a strong, flexible, and toned body core to help you power out your swing and have your fellow golfer’s jaw dropping at your distance.
First thing is first, check your diet, and check what you are eating. It is a waste of time working out if you eat fast-food on a regular basis. You will not get results. Trust me on this one. They go hand in hand.
Look to eat foods with low fat and high levels of pure protein for example lean meats, peanuts and boiled eggs, also fish. Muscle repair is really important after golf weight training so consume the right specific foods to maximise results. Important to note aswel is to keep hydrated so fluid intake is a must.
Now I highly recommend the use of a swiss ball. Please seek the advice of a personal trainer if you are unsure of how to use a swiss ball. A swiss ball is all you need for your core. A swiss ball can be used to build on other muscle groups aswel to create even more power and a more flexible rotation in your swing.
I hope I have inspired to go out there and take action

If you pay attention on your grip as it is now, it maybe a bit too tight as you are swinging the club, It might pay to loosen up a little during the swing. It maybe the case as to why you hook the ball. When the clubface is closed upon contact it is usually due over rotation in the wrist and grip tension. Now that you are aware of this be sure to check your all the time. Measure and test your new found awareness at the driving range.
Position yourself away from the ball a little. You may stretch out a little and may cause you to slice at when you start off but you are on the right track. The goal is to try and do the opposite to the hook and slice the ball or even better hit it straight. Hopefully you will get a straight ball. Once again test this out to see if this technique works for you.
Aim for the right of your target if you are right handed, if left handed try the opposite. This maybe helpful for you at this stage if you are still having trouble with the hook. Test this tip out until you can get a good consistent result.
It is important to be aware to end your swing with your weight on your front foot. To me this is the most important aspect to cure golf hook. With your weight on your back foot you will more than likely hook the ball. So practice your full swing and pay close attention to your follow through. This could be the number one reason as to why you constantly hook the ball to the left.
