How Your Hunter Can Dominate World PvP

By Article Expert on Nov. 17, 2009.

PvP combat is in your Hunter’s future, even if you’ve avoided it so far. Wrath of the Lich King has brought more advanced, real time battles to the game.

The first real time PvP battle zone is Lake Wintergrasp. In this new zone, players go at it on the live server to earn points they can use to shop for all sorts of rare and valuable items, including the new Heirloom items that any character in their account regardless of that character’s level can use.

Given the popularity of Lake Wintergrasp and the increasing amount of PvP combat in other popular games, there will surely be even more World PvP in the future. So let’s talk about Hunters and PvP:

Playing a Hunter class character in World of Warcraft PvP requires some of the skills of a real hunter. You need to be able to quickly pick out a target and figure out how it will react so you can anticipate its next move. In addition, you need to know the capabilities of your character and its gear. And you need to be able to maneuver to the right position to take on your target before they can take you out.

However, in Hunter PvP combat, there are issues that no real-world hunter has to deal with. Understanding the best time to employ your Freezing and Frost Traps and essential crowd control devices is one thing. You need to know how to maintain the ideal distance between you and your opponents so you can hurt them as badly as possible before they get close in each fight. And you must do all this against a foe who is trying just as hard to out-think and out-maneuver you as you are to do the same to him.

If you want to be really successful in Hunter PvP combat, you need to know the strategy and tactics for killing each class of opponent. It’s particularly important to understand how Druids, Warriors, and Rogues are likely to come at you. At the same time, you have to have a strategy for countering quick charges into hand-to-hand combat range by Warriors and Rogues.

You can learn much of what you need to win as a Hunter in PvP simply by spending time in the arena. But from my own personal experience, if you try this you can expect to get defeated regularly and be humiliated for a long time. I spent many frustrating hours ranking last or near last in the standings when I tried. Once I started reading a Hunter PvP Guide, I started climbing in the standings rapidly.

Even if you do decide to learn the ins and outs of Hunter PvP combat yourself, you’ll find that a quality PvP Guide will contain information that you’re unlikely to discover on your own. In short, a good PvP Guide will save you vast amounts of time and energy you would otherwise spend on trial and error.

Gamers! How to Fix Computer Errors In No More Than 15 Minutes?

By Article Expert on Oct. 25, 2009.

The aim of this article is to equip the reader with practical advice on how to resolve the most common causes of errors in their computers. Individual recommendation can usually be implemented within 15 minutes.

Most Common Computer Errors - Computers have brought dramatic changes in our day to day lives, yet like any machine, they need regular maintenance and upgrade. Many tasks required to fix computer errors and prevent various computer errors are actually very simple.

In the majority of cases, errors exist in the EXE, DLL and driver files. This happens often as a result of corrupt or invalid entries in the registry. These files are of utmost importance as they create entries in the registry which are also used to operate the system. When the registry becomes unstable or damaged, it will significantly slow down the computer, and will create random responses.

Run Defragmenter - To begin with, run a disk defragmenter. This operation stores the many parts of the many files on the hard disk closer together and contiguously.Defragmenter also creates larger regions of free space using compaction and this enables your computer to find information on the hard drive faster as well as reduce many errors.

Registry Scan - In order to fix computer errors in the registry, it is also advisable to complete periodic registry scans, as this enables unwanted data to be detected and subsequently deleted. This operation can be easily completed with a registry cleaner tool. There are many advanced registry cleaner software which can perform several registry maintenance tasks, for instance deleting malicious spyware and viruses, scanning and repairing computer errors in the registry, in addition they can perform registry backup as well as defragmenting the registry. Click on fix computer errors for more information.

Remove Spyware and Viruses - Spyware and virus programs create most of the computer errors. Viruses are malicious software, which often damage computer files as well as reduce computer speed. By contrast, spy software (spyware) create executable code on the computer, which is often used later to steal confidential data. This code is frequently sent to third parties later for malicious use. In order to fix computer errors due to spyware and viruses, follow a common sense approach and use updated anti-spyware and antivirus tools. Click on adware and spyware removal for more information.

Fix Boot Sector - Faulty programs, in addition to virus infections can also damage computer boot sectors, and this can prevent the system from booting. Fixing computer errors, with occur when booting up the computer is best achieved by using the relevant operating system booting CD provided with most computers. For example, most XP users will be able to solve many problems with the Windows XP installation by using the relevant CD.

Upgrade Your RAM - Insufficient memory is another source of errors, which can lead to various computer problems. Many of these issues lead to either individual software or the whole the computer crashing, hanging, restarting suddenly, and of course the dreaded “blue screen”. To fix computer errors which also relate to memory, users can download free programs which help solve RAM and issues related to memory. These tools are usually user friendly and they can greatly enhance the performance of any system. In addition, completing a computer memory test is also highly advisable.

Gamers! How to make your computer faster in less than 15 minutes

By Article Expert on Oct. 10, 2009.

Optimising the performance of any computer is easier than many users think. This article provides simple steps to speed up any computer quickly. PC or Mac users should be able to implement either of the first two steps in this article in less than 15 minutes.

Step 1 -  Clean the computer registry

Slow computers often have errors in their registry. One of the main functions of the registry is to connect software, hardware and computer files. For this reason the registry is often referred to as the computer’s nervous system. Typically the computer registry becomes more prone to errors over time, is frequently corrupted, and this slows down the computer. A simple step is therefore to locate then fix registry errors. Users could in theory attempt to cleanup the registry manually, however this method is not recommended as it requires deep knowledge of both the structure of the registry and its functions. Registry repair software are usually fast and reliable and offer overall, a better alternative to correct errors, delete unused files, poor links and deal with ActiveX components. Click on compare registry fix software for more information.

Step 2 - Delete and block adware and spyware

Another common reason leading to computers slowing-down, is the large number of spyware and adware, which are downloaded from the Internet, often without the users knowledge. This happens particularly often, when peer to peer networks are being used to download music and videos for example. A straightforward solution to improve the speed of any computer is to use an anti spyware or adware program to scan, remove then block adware and spyware. In order to try out the right anti spyware or adware program, it is preferable to use a trial version which is usually free. The overall effectiveness of the software is obviously the main feature to consider, however other features are also important such as Ease of Download and Simplicity of Use, Automatic Backup, Quality of Customer Service. The best software tend to be the simplest to use and rely on a research capability that constantly updates the software for new threats. Click on best adware spyware removal for more information.

Step 3 - Eliminate viruses

Unsurprisingly many computer viruses can slow down computers and drive down response times. Computer viruses often damage files, can consume excessive amount of memory and take a large amount of space on the hard disk. Running the latest version of the best anti-virus programs will fix many of the problems which are detrimental to computer performance.

Step 4 - Simple housekeeping tasks

There are many simple housekeeping tasks which can be done to improve the speed of any computer, for example uninstalling any software that is not needed.  Alternatively, stopping programs to launch automatically can also improve the performance of any computer. These simple tasks generally produce marginal improvements.

Step 5 - Optimise the Hard disk

For hard disks which are smaller than 2GB then at least 200MB of disk should be kept free and at least 500MB for larger hard disks. This freed up space is an important factor of computer speed as it is used by temporary files which software require to work effectively. This free space also enables your computer to swap files as the computers starts using virtual memory (when it runs out of RAM). Unless sufficient space on the hard disk is availble, the system slows down significantly in that event. Disk scanning programs such as Scandisk for Windows can help check for errors on the hard disk. For instance whilst some hard disks may be large enough, they may be too fragmented with some sectors being unusable. Defragmenting the hard disk is another action, which will improve the response time of any computer.

Step 6 - Optimising the RAM

Some programs are poorly designed and do not release RAM resources after they are closed. This reduces the RAM which is available for other programs. Computers frequently run out of RAM after a while. In order to overcome this, ugrading the RAM is probably necessary. An alternative option, which is also free is simply not to use certain programs simultaneously.

Step 7 - Stop the computer from overheating

Faulty fans are a common cause leading to the computer overheating, slowing down then freezing as a result. The best solution is often to replace the fan, this overcomes the problem by increasing the air flow through the computer thereby reducing its temperature and ultimately improving reponse times.
