How To Chose A DJ To Make Your Party Special

By Article Expert on Nov. 19, 2009.

Whether you are planning a wedding or a corporate event, one of the most important aspects to you and your guests enjoying the event is the entertainment. Many entertainment options for special events are available, but a professional DJ who offers a range of services can be one of the best choices when you know how to select the right DJ for your particular needs.

We have found during our time performing DJ services in the San Antonio area that many people get so overwhelmed when planning their event, that their choice in entertainment often is decided solely by who offers the best price. This can be a big mistake, as the lowest price option may be completely unsuitable for your event. While a fast-talking “go-getter” type may seem like a reasonable choice, it pays to be a bit cautious in who you hire to avoid a situation in which your entertainment is completely inappropriate for your event.

Through our experience providing San Antonio DJ services, we have found that there are several things prospective clients should look for when hiring a DJ for their special event. The following are some tips for helping to distinguish a true professional, who is likely to do a good job for you and make your event fun and entertaining for your guests, from a “hobbyist” who is more concerned with his or her own entertainment and making a few bucks as a bonus.

The first hallmark of a professional is insurance. The DJ should carry his or her own liability insurance. While it is a rare event that someone gets hurt as a result of the entertainment at a special event, having insurance is a sign that the DJ is erious and responsible when it comes to business.

A second indication of a professional DJ is membership in one or more of the official DJ associations. Not only is this a sign that the DJ is dedicated to his profession, there are potential benefits to you the customer, such as the DJ can usually find replacement talent for you in case of an emergency in which he or she is unable to perform at your event.

You can also tell a good DJ by the equipment he or she uses. Good DJs are usually proud to talk about and show you their equipment. In addition to having professional-grade equipment in good condition, it is important that the DJ has backup equipment on hand at your event, just in case something breaks down.

Lastly, it is importatnt to consider the personality and appearance of a DJ you are considering hiring. If the DJ shows up for your initial meeting without a professional appearance and demeanor, he or she may not be a good choice. It is also important that you feel confident that the DJ is going to work with you to give you what you want, as opposed to trying to bend you to his or her personal preferences.

Simpsons Monopoly - Buy and Sell Springfield

By Article Expert on Nov. 19, 2009.

If you are a diehard fan of the popular television program The Simpsons, there is a new product that you and family are sure to enjoy. This great idea combines the excitement of playing board games with your family and friends with your favorite television cartoon characters. Simpsons Monopoly is a collectible version of the immensely popular classic game that will have you and your group laughing and playing for hours at a time. Featured in this edition of the game are the Springfield locations and characters that are known to and loved by fans globally.

The game comes with six pewter tokens that are fashioned in the shapes of some of our favorite characters; Homer, Bart, Jebidiah Springfield, Blinky, Kang, and Santa’s Little Helper. In addition, there are four more collectible tokens that can be purchased separately. The plot for the game involves a monorail system that is coming to Springfield. Of course, this means that everyone is now attempting to buy up all the individual properties appearing in the Simpson Monopoly game, so that the monorail stations and stops can be built on their property. Instead of the original Atlantic City properties that are usually seen in the Parker Brothers classic version, once again this collectible version takes liberties and renames them. You will immediately recognize such Springfield landmarks as Krusty Studios, Mr. Burns Manor and Moe’s Bar. Even the play money that comes with the game is designed to pay homage to the Simpsons.

For those of you who may prefer the board games that have combined a bit of the newer technology there is a version that will delight you as well. You can use the Simpsons Electronic Banking Monopoly game and enjoy the same type of fun but in a faster and more convenient form. This version is going to be familiar to anyone who has played a game of electronic Monopoly in the past. The biggest difference is that the properties and characters will be from the Simpsons television show.

There is also a Halloween edition called the Simpsons Tree House of Horrors Monopoly. In this edition, the board properties are somewhat changed from the other editions. In this version, there is a scarier theme and this is even reflected in the properties that are included.

Anyone who is a collector of board games or different Monopoly versions will want one of these new limited editions. As you can imagine, fans of the series will love to get a copy of Simpson Monopoly right away. When you are looking for a little offbeat entertainment, you need to check out one of these newest board games for loads of over the top laughter and fun.

How Your Hunter Can Dominate World PvP

By Article Expert on Nov. 17, 2009.

PvP combat is in your Hunter’s future, even if you’ve avoided it so far. Wrath of the Lich King has brought more advanced, real time battles to the game.

The first real time PvP battle zone is Lake Wintergrasp. In this new zone, players go at it on the live server to earn points they can use to shop for all sorts of rare and valuable items, including the new Heirloom items that any character in their account regardless of that character’s level can use.

Given the popularity of Lake Wintergrasp and the increasing amount of PvP combat in other popular games, there will surely be even more World PvP in the future. So let’s talk about Hunters and PvP:

Playing a Hunter class character in World of Warcraft PvP requires some of the skills of a real hunter. You need to be able to quickly pick out a target and figure out how it will react so you can anticipate its next move. In addition, you need to know the capabilities of your character and its gear. And you need to be able to maneuver to the right position to take on your target before they can take you out.

However, in Hunter PvP combat, there are issues that no real-world hunter has to deal with. Understanding the best time to employ your Freezing and Frost Traps and essential crowd control devices is one thing. You need to know how to maintain the ideal distance between you and your opponents so you can hurt them as badly as possible before they get close in each fight. And you must do all this against a foe who is trying just as hard to out-think and out-maneuver you as you are to do the same to him.

If you want to be really successful in Hunter PvP combat, you need to know the strategy and tactics for killing each class of opponent. It’s particularly important to understand how Druids, Warriors, and Rogues are likely to come at you. At the same time, you have to have a strategy for countering quick charges into hand-to-hand combat range by Warriors and Rogues.

You can learn much of what you need to win as a Hunter in PvP simply by spending time in the arena. But from my own personal experience, if you try this you can expect to get defeated regularly and be humiliated for a long time. I spent many frustrating hours ranking last or near last in the standings when I tried. Once I started reading a Hunter PvP Guide, I started climbing in the standings rapidly.

Even if you do decide to learn the ins and outs of Hunter PvP combat yourself, you’ll find that a quality PvP Guide will contain information that you’re unlikely to discover on your own. In short, a good PvP Guide will save you vast amounts of time and energy you would otherwise spend on trial and error.
