The rules of playing craps online vary and depend mainly on whether you are playing a simple game against the house, or if you are taking part in a tournament online.

Probably the simplest method to learn the rules of playing craps online is by finding a website that lets you play a simple game of craps against the house. A basic definition of craps is that it is a game that involves the throwing of a dice. Two dice is used and the progression of the game is dependent on the outcome of the first throw.

This first throw is known as the ‘come’. If the first number thrown results in a total of two, three or twelve, this is called ‘Craps’ and if you happened to make a ‘pass’ bet, you would then lose this. If a total of seven or eleven is thrown on the first throw, then this is deemed a ‘natural’ roll and the pass bet wins.

If any other number is thrown, then this becomes a ‘point’, at which stage the dice is thrown again pending either the point number coming up or the number seven comes up, at which case the round is over. The different bet types that you should consider when playing against the house are the ‘come bet’, the ‘don’t come bet’, the ‘pass line bet’, the ‘don’t pass line bet’ and the ‘place bets’.

Online crap rules in tournaments uses a different set of rules since you don’t play in opposition to the house anymore, but against other gambers. Rules for playing craps online in tournaments differ and is dependent largely on the host website where you are playing the game so it is vital that you read the terms and conditions for each website you intend playing on before you start to play.

These terms and conditions should include rules such as how much you may have to pay for entering the tournament, what sort of prize money that is offered and the amount of games that you need to play in a tournament. Do not hand over large sums of money to an online craps tournament site until you have played around with some of the sites which offer free tournament participation. In this way you can be aware of the differences between tournaments and the usual ‘against the house’ craps.

Most of the rules for the online version of Craps are pretty much the same as for local casinos except for one fundamental difference. This is because when you are playing online craps you are not having real dice but instead using a random number generator to obtain your score.

This is why it is advisable to play at an established website as the outcomes can be easily rigged without you knowing. This will nota problem at the bigger casino sites.

As with every game of chance, respecting the rules and being familar with the game are two essential aspects to your success in online craps.
