Soichiro Honda’s obsession was automobiles, but, paradoxically, he designed Honda motorcycles. Driving fast and racing were activities he enjoyed, and this passion was complemented by his mechanical knowledge, picked up from working in an auto repair shop while he was in his teens. He got a good amount of experience with riding motorcycles, because he owned both an Indian, and a Harley.

It was only when he was 41, in 1948, that Honda started his very own Honda Motor Company, but he had already owned an auto repair shop, starting way back in 1928. He believed he had to design it well, and produce it well, to compete well, so his primary focus was on design, followed by quality. In 1953 Japan was having to deal with a depression, and, although sales of motorcycles were on the up, the success of his company was in jeopardy. Even though an inadequate number of sales were being generated, he kept his factory going because he disliked the thought of taking work away from people. The perception of this determination was borne out in 1958, by the introduction of what became the most successful motorcycle in the world, the C100 Super Cub. The bike was versatile and also cheap, near anybody’s reach, driven by a 4-stroke motor with a 3-speed transmission.

Not merely could new owners operate it effortlessly, but it became a way of commuting for women. The recognition of this bike skyrocketed Honda to the number one position by volume of motorcycle makers in 1959. At that time they chose to set their sights on the world. They supposed that the USA was the key market to capture at the outset. Achievement in America would undoubtedly result in success worldwide, they believed. Honda had been first on the market to the American public in June, 1959, in Los Angeles, and by 1960 you could buy a Honda from any of more than 75 stores.

By means of community involvement , largely through sponsoring 50% of the funding needed by a pair of organizations, Honda became a trusted brand. These were the Motorcycle Industry Council, and the Motorcycle Safety Council, both highly valued by enthusiasts of motorcycles. Honda carried on to develop new motorcycles during the 1970′s, which people could hardly get enough of, keeping them atop the industry. In 1973 Honda bikes were the champions of over 70 races around the globe, and they were soon renowned as the speediest available. The innovative GL1000 Gold Wing was launched in 1975, making touring bikes comfortable and stylish, and the style was hurriedly emulated by Honda’s competitors.

Cultures all over the world remain obsessed as Honda keeps producing motorcycles with their trademark appeal. In addition they try to maintain a good image with the public by donating many motorcycles each year to causes that are deemed worthy. Bike safety keeps benefiting by Honda’s ongoing funding of training courses and dissemination of valuable information for the promotion of motorcycling safety. Over many decades now Honda have confirmed that their motorcycles happen to be amongst the most reliable around. The success they have attained with some of the big risks they have taken has resulted in Honda  being a virtual  emperor  of motorcycles.

We all know times are tough. With the current economic conditions, the last thing you want to do is spend more money. However, this may be the one example where this new investment will pay for itself quickly. If you live in an area where 50cc mopeds can get you from point A to point B, you should seriously consider snagging one and there are plenty of reasons why.

As fuel prices rise, filling up your car or truck is costing you alot of money. Figuring that the average car gets about 20-25 MPG, you could be filling up your tank as many as 3 or 4 times a week. At $50 or more a fill, it gets pretty pricey. Wouldn’t you rather fill up your ride once a week and only spend about $15 to do so? Most 50cc scooters get between 80-100MPG, saving you tons of money at the pump.

Isn’t frustrating when you can not find a parking spot anywhere? Maybe it is going to your friends house or just a quick run to the store. If you live in the city, you may be parking blocks away and possibly e ven have to pay for your spot. Do you realized the little space required to park a 50cc scooter?

Dealing with massive traffic jams are another reason to consider a scooter. When you consider it all, you will have plenty of space to get where you are going and probably taking a lot less time compared with yu car. Scooters are beginning to look like a wise investment, right?

The bottom line is that in today’s economy, a 50cc moped just makes sense. You are going to save both time and money and who doesn’t want to do that? You need one more reason, think about the lower cost of maintenance and insurance. Now there really isn’t a reason to head to the dealership and come home with one!

Money is something that we are all looking for these days and we are trying to save it any way we can. Realistically, one of the larger costs that we all have each and every week is the cost of filling up our gas tanks. Depending on how far you travel or the type of car you drive, you may be spending over $200 weeky just in gas. You are exactly the person that needs to start looking at 50cc scooters as an alternative to firing up that big engine all the time.

Cars, of course, are a better vehicle for carrying many passengers or in unclimate weather. But what about those short errands you make in the city? Is there really any need to use the gas guzzler and add another bill to the growing stack? Now you are adding another tank of gas to something that is already draining you. 50cc Scooters typically get over 80 MPG! Imagine the amount of cash you can put in your pocket in a years time.

As you already know, it is never easy to park in the city. It can even be challenging in the short trip to the grocery store. Make a life a little easier on yourself and do these tasks with a 50cc scooter. You can find so many more places to park with scooters. Forget about wasted time driving around looking for a place to park. You can find a great spot every time!

Another great thing about the 50cc moped is how easy they are to weave in and out of traffic. You do not have that option driving around in your truck or SUV. You just get to wait in that long line like everyone else and watch the minutes and hours tick away on your watch. Wouldn’t it be nice to get some of that time back?

The bottom line is that in today’s economy, 50cc scooters just makes sense. You are going to save both time and money and who doesn’t want to do that? You need one more reason, think about the lower cost of maintenance and insurance. Now there really isn’t a reason to head to the dealership and come home with one. Are you begining to see that traveling around on a scooter moped may be wise. You can save money and time, isn’t that what many people want more of.
